New Frank Ocean has dropped - and it is oh, so nice.
He really hits his vocal notes in this one which is complemented by the somber music. It reminds me of Ocean’s ’I Miss You’ on the new Beyonce album with those enveloping whirrings. A little bit.
No Word on whether this is a demo, from a mixtape or a track off nostalgia/LITE (no release date set).

In March 2011, MADE invited Aloe Blacc to earn his dollar at a special creative session to Berlin. His original music was interpreted by Miki and his string-quintet, who translated the soul and funk infused music into classical compositions. Above you can experience Aloe performing his intriguing string-quintet version of his cover of Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean".
The strings are gorgeous, Aloe's vocals are beautiful and the lyrics are... well, great.

Q-Tip took to his twitter this morning to confirm that he is currently working on new music with D’Angelo for the singers forthcoming, long overdue comeback album. He also said that D has also recorded music with Questlove and that musically speaking “he is on his A game”.

Mike Posner featuring Rusko – Shut Up [Electronic]
As arguably one of the more surprising collaborations lately, Mike Posner and Dub-DJ Rusko have teamed up for the tune "Shut Up." The track emerged earlier this week without any official word on where this might end up. However, both fellas seem to be a great match as Posner's singing is complemented by Rusko's trademark dub-beat and vocal sound effects. This time he uses a Talk-box for the "shutup-shutup"!.

Artist Check: Delilah [Alternative-Soul]
The UK songstress, Delilah has been feeding my ears quite constantly of recent. In February she appeared on Chase & Status’ ‘Time’ (below) and in her new track "Go" she pays homage to Chaka Khan’s ‘Ain’t Nobody’ without committing any crimes. Her beautiful voice, controlled yet still very emotive, has taken me by surprise as unconsciously I have had her songs on heavy rotation. Her new track "Go" features a rather cold beat courtesy of Balistiq and the results pretty much speak for themselves.
Delilah will be releasing a new EP in September which will include ‘Go’ and her first single ‘Breathe’ – her debut album will then follow in Autumn 2012.

Video: Jay-Z & Kanye West ‘Watch The Throne’ Documentary
11 minute doco on the making of Jay-Z & Kanye West’s upcoming collaborative project Watch the Throne. It’s real enjoyable to watch – it’s great to see Jay & Yeezy interact, normally and also still see that "mentor/apprentice" relationship.
Good ol' Russel Crowe makes an appearance too.
Video: Nujabes: An Eternal Soul - Documentary Trailer
Here’s a trailer for an upcoming documentary based on the life, influence and legacy of Nujabes – the Japanese Hip Hop producer who tragically died last year in a car accident. Often referred to as the “Japanese J. Dilla”, Nujabes was considered by many as a pioneer – known for his experimental sounds he continually pushed the boundaries – often incorporating sounds of his native with Jazz samples.
While no official release date is available for the documentary at the moment it’s really great to know that someone has made this – Nujabes’ remains a rather mystical / underground figure – his music is something we should continue to celebrate and spread.

After receiving the co-sign from Jamie Foxx, Killer Mike, T.I., KaySlay, DJ Premier, Ghostface, Ludacris, FatMan Scoop and many more, his debut album Beautiful dropped July 5. MTV made his rhyme skills world-renowned, but "Feel Some Type Of Way" is a slow-burning R&B cut that announces him as a singer/songwriter at heart.

Arguably one of the most discussed about new artists, Kreayshawn has caused plenty of raised eyebrows due to the rapid rise to fame after her smash video and song “Gucci Gucci” visual. Her flow isn't bad, but I gotsta say, her sound is quite 'wack' . Check it below:
Now, the 21-year old Oakland native has received a recording deal and some buzz from top-notch rappers - Her latest fan - Drake. Last week on DJ Green Lantern’s “Invasion Radio” show, Drizzy called in from Toronto into the show to speak with Kreayshawn offering his "endorsement" for the new Columbia Records signee.
“I honestly get excited when new things happen in hip-hop and when I heard ‘Gucci Gucci,’ I heard the flows, I was excited before I even knew who she was. And you know I got to hear a little bit more of the music beyond that and then to meet her and the energy that she has is great. She’s just a great person. She’s good people. That’s my dog.”With his eyes all set on the release his sophomore album Take Care on October 24, Drake is leaving the door open to a collaboration.

After viewing this, can one not agree with me? Of course she may have some qualities that kids will like: She is a Fresh, energetic, quirky sexy female with that "I don't give a flying F*ck" attitude....and hell, she's straight bad ass.....But seriously?
I'm sensing a one hit wonder, which I can live with - but if she gets more hits with these kinda tracks, I don't know what the music world has

New Track: Teairra Mari - Come Back To Me [R&B]
Covering a song, especially a beloved one, takes some guts. You either reinterpret it through your own eyes or you play it straight and aim to be better than the original. Either way, if you shoot and miss you risk looking like a fool.
Unfortunately Teairra Mari, the girl with "daddy" issues has taken on this "challenge" but missed the target: Janet Jackson's classic "Come Back to Me." Janet's original was perfectly in tune with feelings of a breakup (On my personal 'sad love songs' playlist).
Teairra's rendition just feels like she's singing karaoke. It's passable enough, i guess for the young'n that like a "modern beat". But there's just no emotional connection here. Honestly, she felt more invested singing "Sponsor," (she damn sexy in that video tho) her song about the joys of being a kept woman (read: gold digger).

News: Big Sean confirms mixtape with Curren$y and Wiz Khalifa
This week has seen the arrival of Three tracks (1, 2, 3) that featured Wiz Khalifa, Curren$y and Big Sean. The songs were immediately followed by rumors that these three rap heavyweights are planning a collaborative project. Now, in an interview with 101.5, Sean confirms these rumors and announces a new mixtape from the trio. Check the 5:30 minute mark.

Hands down, BDE is my favourite track from Mac's Best Day Ever Mixtape. 1 hour ago, Mac releases the visuals for the single. It starts off by showing a young Mac Miller rapping to Sugar Hill Gang's "Rapper's Delight" then goes into a montage of home videos of a toddler Miller. This turns into visuals very simliar to"Nikes on my feet" and "Kool Aid & Frozen Pizza" videos. Dope. Most Dope.
Mac always comes correct with his flow and rhymes. The beat is produced by ID Labs.
