I hate when people classify Jason Derulo as R&B. He is strictly Pop. The Chris Brown wannabe who can't dance is back.
Here, just like Jason sampled Imogen Heap ”Hide And Seek” for his debut single, “Whatcha Say”, he samples two more tracks for his new album’s first single. This is another catchy pop dance track - entitled “Don’t Wanna Go Home.”
One the tracks he samples is 1993 Dance hit, “Show Me Love” by Robin S. Most Australian clubbers are very familiar with this track - which was also sampled by Michael Mind in his remake (Academy night club theme song =P).
Also the lyrics make references to the Jamaican folk song “Day-O (The Bannana Boat Song)”.
It was produced by production duo, The Fliptones and is for his forthcoming album, Future History, coming soon from Beluga Heights/Warner Bros. Records.
