New Track: Lady Gaga - You and I (Metronomy Remix) [Post-Dub]

I’m not a fan of Gaga’s music or, honestly speaking, her voice but when I saw that Metronomy remixed her latest single ‘You & I’ I was compelled to give it a listen.

As you’d imagine I’m not too fond of the original version of this track but Metronomy’s slowed down, looped version saves it… Not entirely, but somewhat (they’re good, but no ones that good). It’s an interesting listen if nothing else…

Video: Stalley - The Sound Of Silence [Hip-Hop]

One of my fave tracks off of Stalley’s Lincoln Way Nights mixtape. ‘The Sound Of Silence’ is great picture-building music; music that easily builds an image for you, off of the strength of the lyrical content.
This is why the video is shot so simple, with not much content to distract you from the lyricism. Dope.

Lincoln Way Nights (Download here) was released earlier in February but has been remastered and will be set for re-release, on November 1 via the help of Maybach music.

EP: Häzel – Playground (Teaser) [Alt-Hip-Soul]

This is the definition of Alt-Hip-Soul. I Just posted Häzel + Slakah the Beatchild collab EP, but Häzel’s most recent solo offering The Playground EP – it is honestly among some of the best music I’ve heard this year. This rising French Alt-Hip-Hop-Soul producer has taken me by surprise.
Drums snap like collars, electric piano chords to melt for, vocals restrained so as not to ruffle the endo puffers and should overall seriously help amplify your swag this week I’m sure.

New EP: Häzel & Slakah the Beatchild – This [Soul/Jazz/Hip-Hop]

During their time in Paris together, Häzel & Slakah the Beatchild produced this brand new 6 track EP. Entitled This, the project features all new jams steeped in various influences – most predominately Soul & Hip Hop.
Both of these artists deliver well on their own, so it’s no wonder that together they have produced something quite stellar. It doesn't even need vocals because instrumentally, all the songs are strong enough to stand alone.
